As proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly, in 2014 we are celebrating the International Year of Crystallography, to which celebrations the Departments of Chemistry and Materials Sciences have joined, organizing a series of Conferences and other events, that will take place from April 2014 to April 2015. The Conferences include speakers of great prestige, among which 3 Nobel Laureates: Robert Huber (NOBEL of Chemistry 1989), Ada Yonath (NOBEL of Chemistry 2009) e Brian Kobilka (NOBEL of Chemistry 2012).
The subjects cover several scientific areas: Preservation of Cultural Heritage, Chemistry, Materials Science, Geology and Structural Biology.
The choice of speakers intends to promote a better understanding of the role of Crystallography in science, in our lives and in our future, assuring that the contact with these scientists of recognized international merit will be a unique opportunity for students, teachers and researchers.
