Teachers of (FCT-UNL) integrate  the "Working Group Littoral" created by the Minister of the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy.

José Antonio Carmona Rodrigues and José Carlos Ferreira (DCEA - Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering) integrate a wider group coordinated by Professor Filipe Duarte Santos (UL).

The group has the task of making an assessment of the Portuguese National Strategy  for the Coastal Zone and carry out a reflection on the problem of coastal areas vulnerable to erosion. The severity of the damage caused by recent storms in January, February and March calls for measures that promote employment and sustainable management of our coastal zone.
