Professors Carlos Lodeiro and José Luis Capelo, both professors at FCT's Chemistry Department , saw recently highlighted the work of the research group they lead, Bioscope , in collaboration with a group from the Department of Inorganic Chemistry , University of Santiago de Compostela , and University of Canterbury Christ Church in the UK , on the cover of December's edition of Wiley’s journal "ChemistryOpen". The result of this research aims the importance of studies of new nano - structured systems based on polyamine systems and metallic Ag and Au nanoparticles for the detection of toxic metals in the manufacture of future optical sensors.
