The Postgraduate Degree in Digital Skills for Health offers a variety of skills through the intersection of technology and healthcare, enabling leadership and innovation through a combination of knowledge from engineering, health sciences and information technology, essential to face the health sector’s challenges in the digital context.

With a strong multidisciplinary structure, developed and taught in association between the School of Science and Technology - NOVA FCT,  the School of Medicine and the National School of Public Health of the NOVA University of Lisbon, this Postgraduate Degree brings together Advanced Digital Skills, such as Artificial Intelligence , Cybersecurity, Robotics and Internet of Things (IoT), Information Management and Data Analysis, Data Security and Privacy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Ethics and Social Responsibility, in synergy with the necessary skills in Health.

Additionally, the Postgraduate Degree in Digital Skills for Health also provides students with specific skills in the health area, such as: Clinical Knowledge, Health Literacy, Integration of Technology in Clinical Practice and Telemedicine and Remote Care.

This postgraduate degree is part of the European Digital Skills DS4Health program and is developed in collaboration with the Universities: UniKlink RWTH Aachen (Germany), ENSAE Institut Polytechnique de Paris (France), Medical University of Vienna (Austria), University of Ionina ( Greece), University of Tel Aviv (Israel), Politehnica University of Bucharest (Romania), so students have the opportunity to enjoy mobility with these Universities and with industrial and technological partners, such as BAYER, ITTM (Information Technology for Translational Medicine), JSI (Josef Stefan Institute) and CLINOMIC.

For whom

  • Holders of a Bachelor's degree in the areas of Engineering, Health and other related areas.
  • Candidates with similar backgrounds will be evaluated based on their CV and professional experience;
  • All candidates must be approved by the scientific committee and may be subject to an interview, with the aim of evaluating their preparation and
  • motivation for the course;
  • There are no restrictions on access to this Postgraduate course with regard to age group. Course Coordination

The Postgraduate Course in Digital Skills forHealth is coordinated by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) of the School of Science and Technology of the NOVA University of Lisbon (NOVA FCT), in association with the School of Medicine of the NOVA Medical School (NMS ) and with the National School of Public Health (ENSP). DEEC constitutes a teaching and research unit at NOVA FCT, dedicated to progress, research, quality of teaching and provision of specialized services to the community in the area of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
