Maritime Logistics deals with the efficient and integrated management of transportation, distribution, and storage operations of goods by sea.

This is an area that involves the coordination of multiple stakeholders, including shipowners, port agents, customs authorities, carriers, and other parties, to ensure the efficient and safe transportation of cargo.

Program

The Master's in Maritime Logistics builds upon the excellent teaching and research conducted at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and the UNIDEMI Research Centre of NOVA FCT, as well as the prestigious institution that is the Naval School of the Portuguese Navy.

The faculty associated with this Master's program conduct research in cutting-edge areas within the domain of maritime logistics, leadership, port management, operations management, technologies, among others.

Curriculum

For whom

Professionals with at least 5 years of experience in the job market, aiming to acquire new skills in the field of maritime logistics, or to requalify their skills in these domains, and who simultaneously meet one of the following conditions:

  • Holders of a bachelor's degree or equivalent (recognized by the scientific council of NOVA FCT in the case of international degrees) in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Economics, Business Management, Naval Administration, or Geography;
  • Holders of a professional, educational, or scientific curriculum recognized as demonstrating the ability to undertake this master's program.

About the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (DEMI) is a permanent organic unit of NOVA FCT, dedicated to teaching, fundamental and applied scientific research, and the provision of services in the fields of Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
