Rodrigo Martins, professor and researcher at the Department of Materials Science of NOVA FCT, was recently invited to join the prestigious jury of the King Jaume I Awards.
These awards, which have been held for 34 years in Spain, have until now included 65 Nobel Prize winners on its jury.
The awards honour people whose work is highly significant and has been carried out mainly in Spain, in six areas: Basic Sciences; Economics; Medicine; Environmental Protection, New Technologies and Entrepreneurship. The prizes are awarded annually and each category has a gold medal, a certificate and a money prize of 100,000 euros, of which the winners are obliged to reinvest part in research and entrepreneurship in Spain.
