Tomás Silva, student of NOVA School of Science and Technology, won the first Padel tournament of NOVA University Lisbon in the men duo category. He will now, together with Tomás Morais, student of NOVA SBE, represent NOVA in the National University Padel Championship, which will take place in March, in Porto.
University sports have always been present in the path of Tomás Silva, student in the 4th year of the Integrated Master in Micro and Nanotechnologies Engineering. "Since the first year I have participated in various sports: volleyball, kickboxing and now padel. I think university sport is quite interesting in the life of any student, important for maintaining a good mental health and the spirit of sports."
For the student, representing NOVA in the National Padel Championship "is always a good feeling, it carries some responsibility, but the most important thing is to have fun and it is also excellent to contact with other people, like students from other universities."
The 1st NOVA Padel tournament took place on the 15th of February at FCT NOVA with the participation of 17 pairs. Besides Tomás Silva and Tomás Morais, who won in the male category, Brígida Teles and Tomás Morais, students from NOVA SBE, won in the mixed team group and will also represent NOVA in Porto.
