André Brito, Master in Mathematics and Applications, with a specialization in Actuarial Science, Statistics and Operational Research, by NOVA School of Science and Technology, received the SPE 2022 Prize.
The award, promoted by the Portuguese Statistical Society, aims looks / has the objective to stimulate the study and scientific research activity in Probabilities and Statistics.
The alumnus won the prize with the dissertation "Temperature-Mortality Association: Portuguese Extreme Weather Event Early Warning System", which was supervised by Regina Bispo, professor at the Department ofe Mathematics of FCT NOVA.
The formal ceremony of the SPE 2022 Prize, with the display of the awarded work, will take place during the XXVI Congress of the Portuguese Statistical Society-SPE 2023.
