Universidade NOVA de Lisboa presented the future Institute of Art and Technology (NOVA IAT), which will be born in Forte da Trafaria.
NOVA IAT, whose architectural project was disclosed, is the country's first center for research, teaching, and artistic creation that combines art and technology.
The former Prison of Trafaria will thus be transformed into a strategic platform for training, research, innovation, and provision of services to the community. An interdisciplinary space that sees the interface between art and technology as a privileged means to creatively intervene in society, contributing with cutting-edge innovation to its sustainable development.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Science Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, the Minister of Culture, Graça Fonseca, the Mayor of Almada, Inês de Medeiros, and the Rector of NOVA, João Sàágua.
