The Caparica campus of the NOVA School of Science and Technology was awarded the Eco Schools Green Flag for the first time, distinguishing the Faculty for its efforts and commitments to become more sustainable.
The Eco-School distinction, awarded by the Blue Flag of Europe Association (ABAE), corresponds to the recognition of the work developed by Sustainable FCT NOVA, in the pursuit of a Sustainable Campus through the involvement of all school actors in a collaborative sustainability strategy .
The School explored initiatives in various areas of activity, such as Waste, Water, Energy, Outdoor Spaces, Healthy and Sustainable Food, Involvement and Awareness, highlighting:
The NOVA School of Science and Technology will continue to work to renew this distinction, with more activities and ambitious goals, in order to make our community and our campus progressively more sustainable.
Eco-Schools / Eco-Universities is an Education Program for Sustainable Development promoted in Portugal by the Blue Flag of Europe Association (ABAE), a Portuguese section of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). Eco-Schools puts into practice all the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, with the aim of encouraging actions and recognizing the work developed by schools, within the scope of Environmental Education for Sustainability.
