On October 16, the NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) hosts the "Looking at the Sky" Conference that will take place in the Library Auditorium.
This meeting celebrates the 50th anniversary of man's arrival on the moon and the 100 years of the astronomical expeditions to Principe Island and Brazil. NOVA School of Science and Technology also marked those moments with the exhibitions “E3 - Einstein, Eddington and the Eclipse” and “The Eagle has Landed”.
The conference features the interventions of Cristina Oliveira, a former NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) student and now team coordinator at the Space Telescope Science Institute; Paulo Crawford, from the Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics, University of Lisbon; José Paulo Santos, from LIBPHys of FCT NOVA; José Fonseca, from CRI / UNINOVA of FCT NOVA; Ana Simões, Maria Paula Diogo and José Luís Câmara Leme, from the Inter-University Center for the History of Science and Technology of FCT NOVA.
This conference is organized by the Centro Interuniversitário de História das Ciências e da Tecnologia (CIUHCT) and the Department of Applied Social Sciences of FCT NOVA, in collaboration with the Library.
