The 2nd edition of the NOVA Science Day will take place on September 18th 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at NOVA's Rectory in Campolide.
This year's edition will be dedicated to NOVA's talent, in particular to Researchers who have been awarded with grants from the European Research Council (ERC). The program will include presentations from five of these fellows and a tribute to Researchers who have received more than one of this grants.
ERC grants support to top Researchers who are selected for their innovative ideas for future research as well as for the exceptional quality of their previous work. These grants exclusively support scientific quality and have a success rate of around 10% of all submitted applications. FCT NOVA has obtained 8 ERC Grants, fact which proves well the excellence of this Faculty.
The session will be attended by Jean-Pierre Bourguinon, President of the ERC, and Manuel Heitor, Portuguese Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education. This ceremony counts on the collaboration of the Portuguese Honorary Orders.
The main goal of this meeting is to show and to promote the research done at NOVA, thus opening the University to society in order to get its feedback and ideas. The event is targeted at Professors, Researchers and Doctoral students of NOVA, so they can know all the scientific areas of Research existing in this University.
