Pedro Barquinha, graduated at FCT NOVA in Materials Engineering and currently Assistant Professor of the Department of Material Science and CENIMAT/I3N researcher, received a Starting Grant from the European Research Council (ERC) for the project "TREND - Transparent and flexible electronics with embedded energy harvesting based on oxide nanowire devices".
TREND covers various areas of science and engineering, from materials to chemical, physical to electronic, and it’s development will enhance products in areas such as consumer electronics or even wearables for medical applications.
The Starting Grants from the European Research Council are designed to encourage young, researchers at European level, building their career and scientific independence. The funding is 1.5 million euros for 5 years.
