Maria Isabel Gomes colleague from the Department of Mathematics was awarded the prize for the best article of European Journal of Operational Research, in the category of "Theory and Methodology", in 2010 and 2011. The article, co-authored by Anne Póvoa (IST) and Augusto Novais (LNEG), is entitled: "Simultaneous design and planning of supply chains with reverse flows: A generic modelling framework".
The prize is awarded by EURO Association (the Association of European Operational Research Societies) through an international jury which evaluates 10 selected articles by bibliometric criteria among all those published in the EJOR journal (1200 in total for the 2013 awards).
