The main objective of the Master's programme in Nutritional Phytotechnology for Human Health is to develop a critical attitude towards various issues of Nutritional Phytotechnology applied to human health.
It also follows strategic and operational planning, which articulates the needs of specialised professionals and constitutes a coherent intervention in resolving structural deficits in the industrial sector linked to the production and processing of plant products with nutritional value and interest for human health.
This master's degree provides skills in phytotechnological processes applied to human health on a sustainable basis.
The work leading to the dissertations in this master's programme will preferably be carried out in institutions linked to the hospital and/or public health sector and in companies in the food sector.
It enables skills to be acquired in food production lines with a high degree of automation, guaranteeing the implementation of measures associated with food control and safety in accordance with Portuguese and European legislation (within the framework of RASFF - the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed);
A master's degree that contributes to the development of innovative capacities to apply new methodologies and state-of-the-art technologies to optimise processes associated with the production and processing of vegetables with food/nutritional interest for human health, taking into account the assessment of social, economic and environmental impacts.
