FCT-NOVA signs agreement with Hewlett

HP decided that the Iberian Peninsula would be the world starting point for the implementation of partnerships with universities for the study and development of software defined networks (SDN). In this context, last 19th February, the first protocol in this area was signed between the FCT-NOVA, HP and REDITUS.

Under this cooperation agreement, a knowledge and skills platform will be developed in the area of ​​SDN, aiming research promotion and the creation of SDN solutions for specific scenarios and situations. FCT-UNL must promote and monitor its students’ activity in the work developed in the field of SDN. On the other hand, HP will ensure access to its SDN community and provide physical and logical elements for the development of such an inquiry. REDITUS will have an articulation function between the other two partners of this protocol, providing real problems and the knowledge generated by the network practice and by the human resources for monitoring these projects.

The three parties agreed that REDITUS should have the mission to boost in the market the solutions developed under this protocol, whose accompanying should be secured by a committee made up of members of the three involved entities.
